
Built in the early 1800s, between 1821 and 1861 the building was, remarkably, the major single reason for 'tourists' to visit the town. It was probably the finest large cottage orné building in the country owned by the eccentric Mr Fish.
Its 200 year history is detailed with many wonderful colour prints and historic Victorian photographs. The book will be especially valuable to any with an interest in Regency architecture or the 19th century history of Sidmouth.
